We at PAYUCA have started a cooperation with Austria's leading energy company VERBUND to enable even faster e-charging stations in garages of rental apartment buildings. The first projects have already been implemented, and further planning is in full swing.

By the end of March 2023, more than 11,235 e-cars had been newly registered in Austria alone, according to Statistics Austria. This already corresponds to 17.8 percent of all new registrations and represents an increase of 56.8% compared to the previous year. With more and more e-cars, the demand for charging stations is also increasing. In addition to fast-charging stations, which are needed for long-distance travel, charging at home is becoming increasingly popular. According to industry experts, between 80 and 90% of all charging already takes place at home, especially if the appropriate infrastructure is available. This is why we at PAYUCA expanded our charging infrastructure portfolio and, together with VERBUND, are enabling an even faster expansion of charging infrastructure in underground garages of rental apartment buildings.

E-mobility in rental housing#

The end of the combustion engine in 2035 has been decided, and the number of e-cars will increase rapidly in the coming years. However, there is still a lack of sufficient e-charging infrastructure - especially off the road. The residential sector will play a key role here. Together with our cooperation partner VERBUND, we are giving forward-looking housing companies access to scalable e-charging infrastructure in order to meet the steadily increasing demand from tenants. There are no additional costs for the planning, installation or operation of the charging stations and only a low, one-time fee. At the same time, the value of the property is increased and secured in the long term. Long-term tenants can charge their cars comfortably and safely at home.

VERBUND invests in e-charging infrastructure#

Through this cooperation, the energy company VERBUND would like to offer future-oriented and practical solutions so that electric mobility becomes more attractive and more convenient for all users. Under the product name VERBUND-Immo-Charging Residential, the charging infrastructure offering is rounded off and PAYUCA is positioned in the housing industry as a full-service provider for all topics relating to energy and sustainability.

First projects with well-known customers#

Already at the start of the cooperation,PAYUCA and VERBUND have successfully completed their first projects together. For example, in Erdberger Lände 36-38 in Vienna's 3rd district, 18 parking spaces in the underground car park of a classic apartment building were electrified for the ramp-up of e-mobility. Tenants already have the opportunity to take out a wallbox subscription directly with PAYUCA. The first customers have already been named, such as Art-Invest Real Estate, which also owns the well-known Millennium Tower in Vienna. The equipment of further apartment buildings is already in planning.
